FIPS 140-2 : Algorithms

Selecting secure products is the responsibility of every federal organization. The U.S. National Institute of Standards (NIST) and the Communications Security Establishment (CSE) of the Government of Canada have established approved cryptographic algorithms for federal agencies. COACT can perform tests on your product to see if it meets the requirements of the following FIPS 140-2 approved algorithms:

Algorithm Name Proper Usage
AES (FIPS 197) Data Encryption
Triple-DES (FIPS 46-3) Data Encryption
DSA (FIPS 186-2) Digital Signatures
RSA (FIPS 186-2) Digital Signatures
ECDSA (FIPS 186-2) Digital Signatures
SHS (SHA-1, SHA- 224, 256, 384 and 512) Hash Functions
HMAC (FIPS 198) Hash Functions
CCM (SP 800-38C) Counter Mode
FIPS 186-2 Random Number Generators
ANSI X9.31 Random Number Generators
ANSI X9.62 Random Number Generators
