COACT Broadens Security Expertise With SCAP Lab Accreditation
Today, COACT, Inc. announced that it's Columbia, Maryland facility scope of accreditation has been revised by NVLAP to include the SCAP test methods under ITST: Cryptographic and Security Testing Program, to now include the new SCAP program.
The Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) is a method for using specific standards to enable automated vulnerability management, measurement, and policy compliance evaluation (e.g., FISMA compliance) and consists of the following standards:
- CCE: Common Configuration Enumeration
- CPE: Common Platform Enumeration
- CVE: Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures
- CVSS: Common Vulnerability Scoring System
- OVAL: Open Vulnerability and Assessment Language
- SCAP: Security Content Automation Protocol
- XCCDF: Extensible Configuration Checklist Description Format
SCAP Lab Manager, Tony Busciglio said "We are pleased that our lab was able to successfully pass the accreditation process for this exciting new area of security. The accreditation has come at a key time. We've had several clients waiting for the opportunity to participate in the program and now we will be able to help them."
