COACT First to Complete NIAP EAL7 Security Accreditation
Security Accreditation Substantiates Leadership Position
COACT Inc. today announced that it has completed the highest security Common Criteria accreditation ever performed by a United States Common Criteria Laboratory. Following a stringent and cumbersome security evaluation of Tenix Datagate's Interactive Link Data Diode device by COACT, the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) accredited the product with Evaluation Assurance Level 7 (EAL7). EAL7 is the highest possible assurance level obtainable through Common Criteria Evaluation and Validation Scheme (CCEVS). CCEVS is jointly managed by NIAP. NIAP is a partnership between the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the National Security Agency (NSA) established to fulfill their respective responsibilities under PL 100-235 (Computer Security Act of 1987).
The Interactive Link Data Diode is a hardware device that allows data to travel in one direction, while preventing data from traveling in the opposite direction. The device enables sensitive networks to import data electronically without the risk to the confidentiality of information on that network.
Established in 1990, COACT is a U.S. based Common Criteria lab accredited by the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP). NVLAP provides third-party accreditation to testing and calibration laboratories. NVLAP's accreditation programs are established in response to Congressional mandates or administrative actions by the Federal Government or from requests by private-sector organizations.
